ABOUT ME

About Me

Darlene Therber began her career in cake design at the age of 16... travelling to Chicago to train at the famed Wilton School and working for her mentor, Mr. Ozment. This neighborhood family owned business, Ozment's Bakery, helped nurture her promise and

creative talents. After leaving Ozment's Bakery, she worked at Beck's Bakery, as well as Mrs. Armstrong's Fried Pies.

Darlene started her own business in 1984. Newly divorced, with an infant and unemployed, Darlene courageously approached the Candyland owners with a creative, innovative business plan. She would lease their front window for a percentage of her profits... and it turned out to be wildly successful!

Later, when the Candyland building was demolished to make way for progress... Darlene moved into the first of what would ultimately be five different downtown locations. Progress came calling each time she would settle in and her cake shoppes gave way to more parking lots and condominiums. She has been in the downtown area for over twenty-six years.

Currently you will find Darlene at the famous FOX'S DONUT DEN located in lovely Green

Hills. The Donut Den has convenient hours for cake pick up... as late as 12:00 midnight!

You can zoom in wearing your P.J.'s and zoom out with your Darlene's cake!
